Function Description

As a Medewerker Cargo Control, you work on and around the aircraft platform at Schiphol. You are responsible for making sure that ULDs (Unit Load Devices), pallets and containers are moved efficiently and are ready for loading and unloading at the right time.

You will work with automated transport systems, monitor cargo movements and help solve small technical issues. You will also coordinate with colleagues from the warehouse, cargo office and platform to keep the entire process running smoothly.

This is a dynamic job where every day is different. You will work outdoors, around aircraft and cargo, and become an important part of the logistics process behind international air travel.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Checking and registering ULDs, pallets and containers
  • Making sure cargo is in the right place at the right time
  • Monitoring priorities and updating cargo movements in the system
  • Working with automated transport systems such as PCHS
  • Identifying and solving minor technical issues
  • Reporting larger problems to the (assistant) Cargo Controller
  • Keeping the work area organised and maintaining a clear overview
  • Working closely with truck drivers, platform employees, warehouse colleagues and the cargo office

Requirements

  • Related experience in similar position in the office is required
  • You have good technical understanding and can quickly learn new systems and processes
  • You are accurate and able to keep an overview when things get busy
  • You have a valid driving licence B
  • You are available to work in a 24/7 shift schedule
  • Experience in logistics, air cargo or working with ULDs is a plus
  • No experience? That’s okay! Motivation and willingness to learn are more important
  • You are reliable, flexible and a team player
  • You must have a valid and approved VGB (Verklaring van Geen Bezwaar) before you can start working at Schiphol.

Offer

  • Gross salary of €2,600 – €3,200 per month based on 38 hours
  • Additional allowances for evening, night and weekend shifts
